Re: I'm interested in publishing my novel...
Well hello Kathleen
Lot's of questions but that's good ... the more you ask the more you will learn.
We publish for people we feel have a good honest intent in publishing and a real desire to do it right. Obviously we see this experience as more about the author than the publisher, we're here simply to help because there are so many publishing houses out there that rip people off.
First thing first. Yes we have an editor that works with prospective publishee's. We strongly urge authors to us an editor but we utilize our editor to determine the worthiness of both the book and the author; if you contract with our editor for additional editing that's up to you.
There are no magic bullets here ... all the work is still on the author but we can get a good idea, by communicating with the author, whether the author really knows what publishing means, it's a chore.
It's also a very rewarding experience. As you said, nothing like seeing your book in print.
There are a lot of factors I have to take into account before we can calculate how much your book will cost to print. Will you need to have help with a cover design? Do you have your manuscript formatted properly? How much set up do I have to do?
All these questions seem kind of heady right now but it really isn't that bad ..
The best thing to do is send me a copy of your manuscript so I can evaluate it's 'readiness' ... and that is easy to do. Send me an email and tell me what format it is in and we can go from there..
Thank you
Jim
